North Yorkshire Police have issued a warning to motorists to be vigilant when defrosting their cars after two were stolen in Thirsk and near Ripon as the owners had left the cars unattended while they left the engines running. The advice being offered is quite simply never leave a car with the keys in unattended.
The victims of this crime will find they are in further difficulties when they contact their insurance companies to be told that they were not covered, the insurance company will simply not pay out if you leave the keys in the car and the engine running. I suspect this is something many of us have done at sometime, but can you afford to buy another car right now?
