Financial Advisor jailed for fraud |

Adrian Bancroft was jailed by Teesside Crown Court today for defrauding his clients out of their investments. He was found guilty on 18 charges of stealing over £300,000 from his victims, one of whom lost his home.
Last March, the FSA warned customers of UK Expatriates Independent Financial Advisory Services (UEIFAS) that their investments may not be as safe as they thought.
The company, which traded from offices in both Middlesbrough and its registered address in Wrexham, north Wales.
Bancroft was jailed for three years. |

Operation Rogue Trader has begin in North Yorkshire in a joint effort between North Yorkshire Police and Trading Standards to clamp down on a crime that often has as its' victims those that are most vulnerable.
The advice as always is to never deal with doorstep traders, this is ultimately the only way these conmen and conwomen will perhaps realise they are going to get nowhere

North Yorkshire Police have issued a warning that residents in North Yorkshire have been reporting a glut of letters received stating they have won money in a World Cup Lottery in a bid to get the victims bank details.
North Yorkshire Police are urging residents to be very wary of anything that asks for personal details, especially if you didn't enter any lottery in the first place. |

Racegoers in York targetted by thieves |

Wealthy racegoers have had expensive jewellery, cash and other items stolen while they were enjoying themselves at York Races. Trainers and football club owners were among the victims who when they returned to the luxurious Middlethorpe Hall very near the racecourse to be devastated at the thefts.
